Bantotal implementation at Bancor, with senior capacity and delivery focus
How we joined an active Bantotal project, stabilized the delivery environment, and shipped a critical module without compromising core scalability.

Why this matters
Critical-platform operations are judged under pressure, not in calm periods
These resources help technical leaders make clearer decisions about continuity, modernization, and operating risk.

What the article covers
In 2022 we joined Acción Point on a Bantotal implementation for Banco de la Provincia de Córdoba, Argentina. The challenge was not only to build new requirements. We had to enter quickly, stabilize the delivery environment, and start contributing inside a project that was already well underway.
The context, very little time to stabilize a critical delivery lane
We had less than fifteen days to organize the team and get the development environments ready. We formed a Bantotal cell with one senior and one junior specialist and stepped into a project that had already been moving for close to a year.
That kind of entry is usually delicate. When a new team arrives without context, ready environments, or delivery discipline, the project loses weeks to friction. So the first priority was not coding. It was making sure the working ground was solid before the most sensitive requirements started to move.
We started by securing environments and delivery flow
Before taking on the CALs, we prioritized environment readiness. That decision saved time later, when the more critical work began.
The project ran on Bantotal with GeneXus 16, and it also gave us a continuous-integration baseline supported by Jenkins. That helped keep delivery more orderly in a context where every change had real impact on banking operations.
The core work centered on refinancing and credit consolidation
For eight months we focused on the Refinancing and Credit Consolidation Module. This was not a side task. The module had to let core-banking users handle refinancing operations inside a reliable accounting and operational structure.
The work included:
- loan setup and parameter definition,
- accounting-transaction design and construction,
- use of standard core routines and procedures,
- and correct posting of the resulting movements.
In projects like this, the risk is not only whether the logic works. The result also has to stay maintainable, scalable, and aligned with how Bantotal should evolve over time.
What made the difference was leaning on standard core capabilities
One of the most valuable choices in the project was avoiding shortcuts that would later punish the bank. We prioritized standard Bantotal capabilities whenever possible. That left the module in a stronger position for future change, without turning it into a fragile piece or a customization burden that would be hard to maintain.
That discipline also mattered in final validation. After several months of work, the requirements were approved by bank users and the delivery lane closed with a defendable result.
What this experience reinforces for other Bantotal programs
This implementation confirmed a few lessons that still matter in regulated delivery:
- speed only helps if environments and delivery discipline are solved first;
- adding specialized Bantotal capacity lowers risk when the backlog is already under pressure;
- standard core functionality protects scalability and maintainability better than rushed custom paths;
- and in banking, quality is only real when users and operations approve the outcome, not just when the build succeeds.
Next step
If your Bantotal team needs extra capacity to hit regulatory dates, recover velocity, or deliver a sensitive module without destabilizing the core, we can help. Contact us or review Bantotal Developers to see how we support this kind of work.
