Accounting process optimization with functional equivalence
A technical approach to separate calculation and orchestration, preserve accounting outputs and define comparative validation without claiming unmeasured gains.

The case at a glance
01 · Challenge
Heavy processing within closing windows while preserving rules, outputs and traceability.
02 · Intervention
Separate set-based processing and orchestration, instrument stages and compare functional equivalence and execution times.
03 · Outcome
An approach and validation criteria are documented; no benchmark or final acceptance is established here.
In financial operations, faster execution is not enough if the results change meaning. Eximus studied two separate workstreams within a credit risk platform: accounting interface generation and rating alignment. The documented technical approach separates set-based processing in SQL Server from functional orchestration in GeneXus.
Clear responsibilities and traceability
SQL Server: set-based processing and data operations under the documented design.<br>GeneXus: parameters, execution states, messages and coordination.<br>Validation: compare business rules, outputs and execution times using equivalent conditions and reviewable evidence.<br>An administratively closed task or successful build is not proof of equivalence or client acceptance.
How to evaluate the change
A performance comparison needs a consistent baseline: representative data, the same period, known rules and expected results. Differences must be explained and functionally reviewed before runtime measurements are interpreted.
What the evidence supports
The sources establish the challenge, technical design and intended validation criteria. They do not establish an approved benchmark or final acceptance. The continuation workstreams remained active at the time of the audit.
Next step
If closing windows constrain financial processing, we can assess the workload and build an evidence-based validation plan before changing the solution. Contact Eximus.
